The fourth generation of hospital accreditation was announced to hospitals with an approach to improving the quality of clinical services and patient safety, with 110 standards and 514 metrics. Avoiding unnecessary documentation, significantly and logically reducing the volume of standards, patient-centeredness and replacing task-centeredness with department-centeredness, paying attention to teamwork in continuously improving the quality of care services, empowering and promoting employee motivation, special emphasis on patient safety, and applying national accreditation requirements were among the most important approaches of this generation of accreditation.
